Mill Ford School

Clubs

Throughout Spring Term 1, we have been thrilled to offer a variety of exciting clubs and activities for our secondary students, helping them develop new skills, build confidence, and have fun with their peers.

Cricket Club (KS3, KS4 & KS5)
This term, we have been running a Cricket Club for Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, and it has been a huge success! Students rated their first session a fantastic 10/10, showing just how much they enjoyed learning new skills, working as a team, and improving their game. Alongside developing coordination, agility, and strategic thinking, students have also benefited socially—making new friends and growing in confidence.

Argyle Football Club – Sports Leadership Course (KS4 & KS5)
This term, Argyle Football Club has been delivering a Sports Leadership Course for our Key Stage 4 and 5 students. This brilliant opportunity is equipping them with the skills and knowledge to run their own football club in the near future. The course has not only improved their understanding of coaching and teamwork but has also helped develop leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills—essential for both sports and future employment.

Upcoming Summer Term Tournaments
Responding to the Student Council’s request for more school sports teams, we are delighted to announce that summer term will see inter-school football tournaments held on the YMCA AstroTurf against other local schools! These matches will allow students to put their skills into practice, experience friendly competition, and represent our school with pride. Dates will be shared soon—watch this space!

Games Club & Beauty Club (Secondary Students)
Alongside sports, our secondary students have also been enjoying Games Club and Beauty Club this term.

  • Games Club has provided a fun and inclusive space where students can develop critical thinking, strategic planning, and social skills while enjoying a variety of board games and group challenges.
  • Beauty Club has been a fantastic way for students to express their creativity and learn about self-care, confidence, and well-being, while also developing practical skills in beauty and personal presentation.

We are so proud of our students for embracing these opportunities and can’t wait to see even more engagement in the coming months. Thank you to everyone involved in making these activities a success!
