Admissions
Mill Ford School is a school for children with profound and severe learning difficulties between the ages of 3 and 19.
Visits
Visits to the School for prospective students are very welcome however, please be aware that to book a visit your child must either have an EHCP (Educational Health and Care Plan) or be in the process of applying for one.
Please contact the school office to book a viewing by contacting the school on 01752 300270.
Allocation of Places
Pupil places are allocated through the 0-25 SEND team at Plymouth City Council and this includes pupils who reside in Devon or Cornwall. If you wish to request a place please contact the 0-25 SEND team at your local authority. The Plymouth SEND email address is senadmin@plymouth.gov.uk if you have any enquiries regarding gaining a place in a special school.
Admissions may take place at any time during the year, if places are available. However, we always encourage prospective parents/carers to visit the school bringing their child with them, if appropriate, before making any decision. This includes Post 16 admissions. You can request a place when completing the EHCP process or when a review of your child's EHCP takes place if they already have one in place.
For more information see Visiting and placements in a special school - Plymouth Online Directory.
Once Offered a Place
Once a place has been offered, we will work with parents/carers and other professionals involved in a child’s life in order to ensure a smooth and positive transition. As with all that we do, every transition will be personalised to each child’s needs. Please see the Transition section of this website (found under the Learning Tab) for more information regarding transition arrangements.
